Summary

Love doesn’t suffer from ignorance, injustice or prejudice but young lovers often do. Codey’s Place chronicles the struggle of Christine, the white daughter of a plantation owner, and Codediah, the black son of the plantation manager. Born in pre-desegregated South Carolina, they must overcome societal mores to fulfill their love. Can Codediah’s uncompromising sense of his identity and understanding of his place in the world save their love from extinction?

Reviews

I read your novel Codey's Place while on vacation in Hawaii. It was a good read, I caught myself picking it up more often than I usually do with books while on vacation. Where did you get your inspiration for the characters and the story? I'd be interested in reading Las Soldaderas when it comes out.
Mr. Merrill Wright Michael
