Summary
By 2010, the stepfamily will be the most prevalent type of family in the US. It's been over 20 years since a children's book has been written regarding stepfamily relationships. Using current research through Strategic Management Advisors, the book, "My Mommy's Getting Married" has been written. The book is regarding stepfamily relationships for children. One of the biggest problems for children in stepfamilies is the loyalty bind. The loyalty bind is when the child feels like he/she is betraying the biological parent if the child cares for the stepparent. The parent needs to have repeated loyalty binds with his/her child to help loosen the bind so the child can feel more comfortable in having a relationship with the stepparent. This book addresses the loyalty bind issue for children. This children's book is unique in that it also is a helpful guide to parents as it gives basic guidelines for parents in stepfamily relationships.
