Summary
Through anecdotes from her life as a nurse—including help from some good old-fashioned jokes and cliché’s—Lindsey McGraw shares the ups and downs of her experiences in nursing school, various jobs, and life in general. Poignant and full of humor, these memories and stories are sure to appeal to new and seasoned nurses as well as to anyone who has ever considered the calling to become a Florence Nightingale.
About the Author
After twenty-eight years of "humpin’ the halls" as an Associate Degree RN, Lindsey McGraw awoke one morning, placed her arthritic legs and bent and paralyzed body parts on the floor, and found that her brain had turned to mush and a cup of coffee was in order before she could function on any level. Yet a glimmer of light flickered in her mind, even with all the craziness this profession can bring on in any given eight- or twelve-hour shift—a book needed to be written to lighten the moods of fellow colleagues. After a life-altering experience, her career options were limited, and she made the decision to enter management in the long-term care area—a job she would not trade for anything in the world.
