Text Set-up
Text pages need to be submitted on
one file. The page size should be the final trim size of the book.
Example: A 5 ¼ x 8 ¼ book will have a 5 ¼ x 8 ¼ page size.
Margins on all sizes should be set
at ½ inch. Check facing pages so you will have pages side by side
to view the layout.

T
he front matter consists of :
- Title page
- Copyright page
- Foreword
- Introduction
- Acknowledgements
- Table of contents etc.
-

even number of pages for the first page of chapter one to fall
on the right side.

Chapters
- If you want the first page of
each chapter to fall on the right side of the book when open,
you must have an even number of pages in each chapter. If the
chapter ends on an uneven number a blank page must be inserted
at the end to make the amount of pages in the chapter even.
- Page numbers should start with
1 and continue through the book consecutively. Blank pages
normally do not show the page number as well as the first page
of each chapter.
- Page numbers normally fall on
the outside margin of each page or the center of the page
margin.
- Photos used in the text pages
need to be scanned at 300dpi.
- Line illustrations need to be
scanned at 600dpi.
File Submission:
BookMasters, Inc. requests that the text file be submitted as a PDF
when possible. Files created for digital printing may not be suitable
for offset printing and color variations will occur.
